Case Study: Membership Welcome and Onboarding Support for a National Association

In September 2025, BCC Telemarketing partnered with a large US-based professional association that had recently experienced a significant increase in new member sign-ups following the launch of a new digital platform and several industry initiatives.

The organisation welcomed hundreds of new members each month, but the internal team responsible for managing the membership programme had limited time to personally engage with every new joiner. As a result, many members completed their sign-up but did not always explore the full range of benefits available to them, such as training resources, networking groups and industry events.

The association wanted to improve early engagement by ensuring new members received a personal welcome and clear guidance on how to make the most of their membership.

Launching the Member Welcome Programme

BCC began the programme in October 2025, contacting new members shortly after they joined the organisation. These calls were designed to introduce the association, confirm that membership details had been received correctly and explain some of the key services available to members.

Agents spoke with members about upcoming webinars, industry events and online resources, helping them understand how the association could support their professional development.

For members who had questions about accessing the online platform or locating specific resources, BCC agents were able to guide them through the process and ensure they felt comfortable navigating the membership portal.

Encouraging Early Engagement

The welcome calls also helped the association identify members who were particularly interested in certain benefits, such as conferences, training programmes or networking opportunities. This allowed the organisation to tailor future communications and connect members with relevant activities within the community.

Many new members commented that receiving a personal call shortly after joining helped them feel more connected to the organisation and reassured them that their membership would be valuable.

Strengthening the Membership Experience

Over the following months, the association saw an increase in early engagement from new members, with more individuals accessing online resources and registering for upcoming events.

By providing a structured welcome programme, BCC helped the organisation ensure that new members did not simply join and remain inactive. Instead, they were guided through the services available and encouraged to become active participants in the community.

For membership organisations, the first few weeks after someone joins can be critical in shaping their long-term engagement. Through personal welcome calls and onboarding support, BCC helped this association create a more connected and engaged membership community.
