Our commitment
Business & Consumer Choices Telemarketing Limited ("BCC") does not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour, child labour or human trafficking in our business or supply chain. We are not currently required to publish a statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, but we publish this one voluntarily because our clients and our people deserve to know how we work.
Our business
We run telephone sales, customer service and data campaigns from our head office in Kettering, UK, and our two contact centres in Umhlanga, Durban, South Africa. We employ our own agents directly. Our main suppliers are telephony, IT, office, recruitment and professional services providers.
Where the risks are
Our own operations are low risk: our work is skilled, office-based and directly employed. The areas we watch most closely are recruitment through third-party agencies, outsourced cleaning, security and facilities services, and the manufacture of IT hardware.
What we do
- Hiring: we check every new starter's right to work, pay at least the legal minimum wage in each country, never charge recruitment fees and never hold identity documents.
- Contracts: everyone has a written contract in a language they understand, with clear hours, pay and the right to leave.
- Suppliers: key suppliers must confirm they meet this standard, and we can end contracts where they do not.
- Speaking up: anyone can raise a concern confidentially under our Code of Conduct, without fear of reprisal.
- Training: managers and recruiters are trained to spot and report warning signs.
Measuring progress
We will review this statement every year, including any concerns raised, supplier checks completed and training given.
