Case Study: Lead Generation Campaign for a UK Heating and Plumbing Company

In February 2022, BCC Telemarketing partnered with a regional heating and plumbing company looking to increase its pipeline of new installation projects. The business specialised in boiler replacements, central heating upgrades and general plumbing services, serving homeowners across several counties in the North of England.

While the company had built a strong reputation through referrals and repeat customers, the management team wanted to generate a more consistent flow of new enquiries, particularly during quieter periods when installation schedules were not fully booked. Their internal team did not have the time or resources to run a structured outreach campaign, as engineers were focused on installations and the office team were busy coordinating ongoing work.

The objective was to create a campaign that would identify homeowners considering heating upgrades and convert those conversations into booked home survey appointments.

Campaign Launch

BCC launched the campaign in March 2022, targeting households within the company’s core service areas. Using structured outbound calling, agents introduced the installer’s services and spoke with homeowners about common issues such as ageing boilers, inefficient heating systems and rising energy costs.

The conversations focused on identifying households where heating systems were older or where homeowners had already been considering an upgrade. When interest was identified, BCC agents explained the benefits of a home heating assessment and offered to arrange a free survey with one of the company’s engineers.

Appointments were scheduled directly into the installer’s diary, ensuring the engineering team received confirmed visits rather than general enquiries.

Building a Pipeline of Qualified Opportunities

During the first several months of activity, BCC contacted thousands of households across the target regions. Through these conversations, the team identified hundreds of homeowners who were either actively considering boiler replacement or planning heating improvements.

From these qualified conversations, a steady flow of home survey appointments was booked for the installer’s engineers. The company’s sales team reported that many of these homeowners had already been thinking about upgrading their heating systems but had not yet contacted a contractor.

The outbound campaign helped introduce the installer at the right moment, turning interest into a scheduled visit where engineers could assess the property and recommend the appropriate solution.

Supporting Installation Growth

By summer 2022, the installer had a far more consistent schedule of survey appointments feeding into its installation pipeline. Engineers were able to plan their weeks more effectively, and the company no longer relied solely on inbound enquiries to maintain workload.

The campaign also helped increase awareness of the company across its service regions, introducing the brand to homeowners who had not previously encountered it through advertising.

For trades businesses operating in competitive local markets, maintaining a steady flow of qualified enquiries is essential. Through targeted lead generation and appointment setting, BCC helped this heating and plumbing company convert conversations with homeowners into genuine opportunities and future installation work.
